House of Palms (HOP) : Bringing Light Into Darkness

House of Palms (HOP) is a Christian ministry in India dedicated to rescuing, restoring, and rebuilding the lives of children from the Banchada community — a group that has been historically trapped in intergenerational sexual exploitation for generations.

The Banchada community is unique and heartbreaking in that the birth of girls is often celebrated — not for their future as students, mothers, or leaders — but because of the income they can later generate through exploitation. Many girls are dedicated to prostitution at an early age to this cycle with little to no opportunity for education or escape. This system is deeply entrenched socially and economically, making intervention extremely dangerous and complex.

House of Palms exists to interrupt that cycle — not just through rescue, but through long-term care, education, and full-life restoration rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What House of Palms Provides

When a child is brought into House of Palms, they receive:

• A safe, long-term residential home

• Full-time schooling and educational support

• Medical care and trauma counseling

• Daily meals, clothing, and basic care

• Christian discipleship and emotional healing

• Vocational training and college preparation

This is not short-term relief. It is life reconstruction.

Currently, over 115 children now call House of Palms “home.” Many who have lived at House of Palms have gone on to pursue higher education and professional careers — something that would have been virtually impossible without long-term intervention and support.

Why Information Is Limited

For the safety of both the children and the workers, very little detailed operational information about HOP is shared publicly. For more background about the Banchada community and anti-trafficking efforts in the region, learn more at the links below.

You can always reach out to our church directly as well, and our team would love to share more.

Where Your Donations Go

All donations given to House of Palms go directly to operating and sustaining the home and the daily care of the children. Based on current operational budgets, funds generally support the following:

1. Staff and House Caregivers

These are the on-site workers who supervise daily life, provide spiritual care, help with schooling and routines, and ensure safety and emotional support. These are not administrative salaries — they are frontline caregivers.

2. Daily Living and Household Operations

This includes groceries and daily meals, milk, eggs, vegetables, and protein, cooking gas and firewood, electricity, phone, and internet, water, sanitation, and hygiene items, building repairs and maintenance, vehicle fuel for transportation, and medical expenses and emergency care.

This is the cost of running a real home for over 100 children every single day.

3. Education and Academic Expenses

This includes school tuition and fees, textbooks and notebooks, uniforms, shoes, backpacks, stationery, and academic supplies, as well as college support for older students.

Education is one of the most powerful tools in breaking the trafficking cycle.
